Charity History

Why are we called "The Million Dollar DJs"?

Our history with the American Cancer Society goes back to 1996 when we did our first Relay for Life in Holly with Renee Becker.  There have been a lot of personnel changes with the ACS in the last 6 years, but the mission remains the same regardless of whomever may be in charge.  In 2002 we added our first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, which will count into the total that we've helped raise with our fantastic friends at the American Cancer Society.

Below is the historical data of the the events we've taken part in, with the total of how much we've helped raise at the bottom of this table. We did not quite make it to the 6 million dollar mark, but we came darn close. Perhaps
if we had done all the events that we we committed to do this year, we would have made it. Anyway, it is a great accomplishment that we will always be proud of.

With the Bloomfield Hills event in 2001 we reached our first milestone of One Million Dollars (Dr. Evil voice).

With the Clarkston event in 2002, The Jim & Lance Show reached another milestone, that being the Two Million dollar mark.

With our first-ever participation in the South Washtenaw event in 2003 we crossed over the Three Million Dollar mark.

On July 31, 2004 we participated for the second time in the Midland Relay for Life.  This event put us over the Four Million Dollar mark. It also looks like they will do it again this year. That is, unless Clarkston does over 219,000.00. Come on Clarkston .. you up to the challenge?

It seems that Midland has done it AGAIN, that event putting us over the Five Million Dollar mark!

After participating in the 2003 Making Strides event in Flint, we concluded our season with a season total of over One Million Dollars.
