Relay For Life Photos

South Washtenaw, 2004

2004 was our second appearance at the South Washtenaw event.  This is the longest drive we have for any event, and also the earliest starting Relay.  Beautiful location, excellent weather, and an fantastic, energetic event.

AHH...the early morning sun rises...

as the crowd gathers and prepares for...

the 2004 South Washtenaw Relay for Life!

The Milan Senior Fun Band

Lori Friese-Baker - Our Friend!

Mickey shows that he's still missing fingers!

The Flint Ink team is a very large very fun part of this event!

Walkers coming in from the opening lap.

Lori and her son Aaron, who spent time in Iraq.

The Tae Kwan Do demonstrations that take place at this event...

always draw huge crowds.  So much, in fact,...

that they perform twice during the event!

Fiddlers Restrung.  WOW!  This group of students from Saline High School absolutely blew us away!

It was amazing, the amount of talent and professionalism that the group of people exhibited.

Ready?
Thumbs Up!
Smile...and
CHEESE!

The Mister Relay contestants in their get-up.  While always GREAT fun...

this portion of the event went WAY over it's limit, affecting the amount of time other performers were allotted.

Here, the "ladies" instructed by professionals on how to do the Cha-Cha Slide.

Lance in a Batman campy off-angle shot.
Notice, if you will, that you can't see the wires holding him at the angle he's being photographed at. Cheap special effects.

Lisa Pappas, folk singer/songwriter who entertained for the crowd, her performance time cut short by the WAY long-running Mr. Relay contest.

Jim in a Star Trek: The Next Generation off-angle shot.  Notice, if you will, that you can't see the 5 guys holding the table at an angle for this high-budget special effects shot.

Rachel Williams and her guitar player (Dave?).  Another act who was, thanks to Mr. Relay running over, was given FAR too little stage time.

This girl, while only being 18, gave a performance that was on a parallel of much more seasoned artists...and blew us away!

Rachel's guitar player.  We're told she usually travels with a full band, but this time only the one guitar...but...just...WOW!

A Hot Air Balloon takes the field!

They gave tethered rides up to 75 feet in the air.

They're such an awesome sight to see.

What Relay wouldn't be a Relay without..

The Jim & Lance Show group dance segment?

AH...the Macarena.

Even little ones give it a try!

What?  A Chicken Fight breaks out?

A view of the track lined with Luminaries.

Noel, Lance's son Derek, and Aaron came down to visit - and help pack up to leave.
