Relay For Life Photos

Novi / Northville, 2002

Lance at the console.  This picture illustrates not only the size of our show, but how we try to create a fun-yet-professional stage presence.  If you look closely at the picture you'll see, above and to the right of the Peavey speaker stack, one of our new pieces of equipment, the Vidsonix satellite speaker.

Jim at the console.  We debuted a LOT of new equipment at this event.  Among them are the Ashly cross-over and the QSC amplifier ( utilized on the Peavey speaker stacks), the Peavey CS-900 amplifier (which powered the new Vidsonix satellite speakers) and the Gemini 1000 Mixer (used to mic performers)..

A couple of the attendees who stopped and smiled for us when we said "Smile for the camera".  If you look at the right-hand side of this photo, you'll see a house.  That is someone's living room.  We weren't on a track this time, but actually walked around a byrm in the parking lot of Novi Middle School.

A DJ's Perspective.  This photo and the next are more-or-less a panoramic shot of the opening ceremony from the Console.

Those standing are team members and the people sitting down wearing purple sashes are Cancer survivors.

Two more of our friends.  On the right is Sizzle, who was great fun and a tremendous source of energy almost all day.

The next two photos are from the first group-dance section of the day.  With the heat as high as it was that day (in the 90's), we had to break it up into two different sessions.

The teams most prominent (the Novi Varsity and Jr. Varsity Pom Pon squads (Varsity in red & white, Jr. Varsity in pink) doing the "Cha-Cha Slide".  One of the few events where the knew how to do it.

We've never done an event before where they've had a barbershop quartet.  These guys ("Fortune Smiles") were GREAT and, as usual, were full of bad jokes interspersed with excellent harmonies.

The Just For Kicks line dancers getting ready to perform.  Even though the heat was rather unbearable that day, they showed up dressed in black jeans and did a fantastic demonstration of line-dancing...not just country, either!

The Just For Kicks line dancers in action.  They did a few demonstration dances and also held a couple brief lessons with members of the crowd who joined in later.  The group at this event was one of the most willing-to-participate that we've ever seen.

The Novi Varsity Pom-Pon squad (red shorts) were an awesome group of individuals who were fun, energetic, and a joy to perform for. Although we don't know her name, the girl in the center pointing to us was a constant source of energy and amusement.  She was probably our biggest, most ambitious fan.

In case you can't tell, it's the Limbo.  This photo is from the second group-dance session we had.  Of course, the ever-present Novi Varsity Pom-Pon squad were there to participate.

Again, the Novi Varsity Pom-Pon squad in action.  They're dancing to the "Rock & Roll Megamix", a 16-minute rock mix exclusive to the Jim & Lance Show.

The same group of girls, this time dancing to Aaron Carter's "It's Aaron's Party".  We never thought the by simply playing this song we'd get such a great response.  We were wrong.
