An Interesting Note About This
Event: This event was exceedingly,
extremely hot and humid, with temperatures over 90 degrees all day. In the middle of the day a fierce,
intense thunderstorm quickly passed through the area, serving only to
raise the humidity on an already incredibly muggy, uncomfortable day.
Even with that The Jim & Lance Show kept their enthusiasm and energy
going, despite the complete lack of recognition in regard to this event.
Virtually every entertainer who performed for this event
(including the overnight DJs, who worked about 6 hours) got mentions in
the program and in several press releases - BY NAME - prior to the
event...yet The Jim & Lance Show didn't even rate a mention on the
program, let alone anything in the press and absolutely no introduction
to the crowd whatsoever. Not only that, but
attempts afterward to voice this concern to the ACS and Entertainment
Chair staff went completely ignored, and didn't even rate the slightest
bit of response or acknowledgment from ACS or RFL committee Chair People
(the one in the very first picture, to be exact). In an arena
where you rely upon the generous donation of time and talent like
the Relay For Life, it's generally not wise to ignore the concerns of
those who are doing the frickin' donating.
For that inconsideration we have dubbed
our last experience at the Midland Relay For Life as the Most
Ungracious, Inconsiderate event we've EVER done. Deal with it. |
This Event is awarded a 2006
Jim & Lance Show Relay Award for:
1) Most Inconsiderate Event
2) Most Unappreciative Event
