Relay For Life Photos

Midland, 2005

The Five Million Dollar Event!

Our 3rd appearance at the Midland County Relay for Life was the Five Million Dollar Event.  Not only the Five Million Dollar Event (imagine special effects with lots of echo and bass rumble), but also the second year in a row that the Midland event put us over a Million Dollar Milestone.  In 2004 they were the Four Million Dollar Event! (more special effects and strobe lights).

The Jim and Lance Show set up for the 52nd event.

An early gathering of people at the Midland Relay for Life event.

The Midland RFL committee takes the stage..

Wow .. this is a big event.

.. no really big event ..
.. the biggest we have done this year.

They are not at Iwo Jima, but they look like they are on the way there.

We thought it said .. sharpen my head ..oh well..

Welcome .. to "Rock and Roll Fantasy Island"

Many local bands turn out for this event, like this band.

All the groupies for the local bands show up early.

In my other life .. I am DJ Plazma!

EMPTY POCKETS !
We just love these guys and their music. You saw them on last year's page for this event.

Empty Pockets has a great sounding beat, largely due to the drummer of course.

There is also excellent guitar work ..

.. for some excellent lead solos.

Come on out and enjoy the Empty Pockets at the next Midland event !

These are your phlying phickle paper plate award winners. No offense to Laugh-In.

Locks of Love was there to take away her hair ..

She cut her hair for Locks of Love.

More people losing their hair for Locks of Love.

Babaloo ! (no really .. this is Earl the Squirrel)

Dave is one heck-of-a musician.

Dave is also a great vocalist. Check him out at his website.

Some of the PKs!

Dave Kellan and the PKs! Dave and all his group were there to support the memory of his mother.

The fans at this event start coming at a very early age. This youngster had a lot of energy as well.

Pay no attention...

...to the man in the yellow shirt...

...who managed to get...

...in seven consecutive pictures...

...as we tried to take...

...a panoramic shot...

...of the Midland Afternoon.

This was a very busy and full event. We took this picture as another view from the stage.

toga, Toga, TOGA!! These girls were all about the songs we played from Animal House! and got dressed for the occasion.

Scott Belson - Midland Entertainment Chair Extraordinaire

Some of the talent arranged by the man at the left.

Posing with our speaker. The speakers are Vidsonics and are no longer available.

Some of the awesome campsites at the Midland event.

Innovative designs ..

.. fun designs ..

.. colorful designs ..

..and there always things to buy from each other's campsite.

Some of the real fun of these events is the different campsites. We hope you enjoyed the sample of some we saw at this event.

More local band action which really was great at this event.

Someone tell these guys they are on the website. Ask them to leave a guestbook entry.

Jim and Lance listen to the local bands from the stage at their 52 event!

The gallery of people lines up to see the Jim and Lance Show..

.. no really..

Look at all these people that were waiting to see what we had to say next.

The view from the stage that day afforded an opportunity to see all of the multitudes that turned out for this event.

Some of the singing this woman did was the best we heard all day. What a talent.

We absolutely adore this lady. We are very glad she chaired the Mister Relay pageant this year.

This transformer supplied power for the event. We thought we would give it some credit for keeping us up and running all day.

A high-energy professional dance team helped us out with the Jim and Lance Show group dance segment.

First, they did one of their own numbers, to the delight of the crowd !

They were really good dancers and very .. uh .. toned .. yeah .. toned.

Here we go with the Macarena .. always a crowd favorite.

The group dance here was the best of the year. (This was written after S. Washtenaw, so yes, Midland was the best).

People really enjoy the group dance segment at the event .

Even Sue still gets into the group dance segment.

Sue is all ready to host the Mister Relay Pageant for all of us at Midland Relay for Life.

We were very glad to see the dance team help out with all the dances.

LOOK!  In the Orange shirt! It's DJ Missie! Where did she come from?  Missie often shows up at these events.

These girls look very happy to help out!

Who said, "Put your left hand down"? Always a fun trick to play on the unsuspecting.

The Hokey Pokey with the Saginaw Dance Team !

We hope the girls show up next year to help us out with the 2006 event.

Jim had a piece of crap car to demolish !

I am Thor .. Warhammer king !

Dang this old car anyway ..I can fix anything with a hammer...
