Jim giving directions to one of the campsites at the Lapeer, 2002
event. This event was MUCH better than the Rochester one 2 weeks
earlier (in a weather aspect)...notice we're not wearing gloves. |
Lance posing behind the equipment. If you look closely you'll
also see sunglasses on us. The sun was out with us all day at this
event. We were much happier. |
They do some pretty cool laps at the Lapeer event. This photo
is from the Holding Hands lap, where the original idea was to basically
form a chain around the track by everyone holding hands. We
settled for holding hands with someone period. |
A couple of awesome people at the event. They were ever-present
dancing in front of the registration tent (behind them) we played music
and entertained them. |
The Group Dance section of the day. This is usually our
favorite part of every event. As you can see, there are about 40
people on the field doing the Hokey Pokey. |
More Group Dance action. In this photo they're doing the
Macarena. As you can see by the proximity of some of the sites,
it's much more intimate than other events, with most campsites being
within 50 yards of the stage. |
More Group Dance action. This shot is the Cha-Cha Slide.
Usually the people fumble over this one, but here it looks like some of
them actually know it. |
This is the Kids-Only lap. See how they're scatted and
running?
'Nuff said. |
Another unique lap is the Favorite Stuffed Animal lap. Here are
a couple of girl walking with whom we assume to me Simba. |
There girls were the cheerleaders of the day, and were TOTALLY
AWESOME. They asked for great songs, danced to almost everything
we played, and were fun to joke around with. Here they're dancing
to Jimmy Eat World's "In The Middle". |
Here they are again, mostly posing when we asked them to smile for
the camera. To the best of our information, they're (l-r) Whitney,
Rachel, Sara, and Heather (awaiting confirmation on those names) |
They had an auction at this event, with REAL auctioneers from Hart
Auction Service in Marlette, MI. It was very neat and I don't see
how they keep up with the bidding and talk so much. Pat's the guy
on the steps and the other guy was Mike or Matt. |
