An Interesting Note About This
Event: This was our first - and only -
appearance at the Frankenmuth Relay For Life. The setting for this
event was very picturesque, right outside of downtown Frankenmuth, MI.
This is probably the first event in
the history of live entertainment that a spectator asked - rather,
demanded - that the music be turned down. Yes, that
is correct. This joyless, cantankerous old lady demanded that the
music be turned down. She even stood up in the middle of the
audience and told Johnny Green (of the TV "Batman" theme fame, who
was performing at the time) to turn it down. The crowd and Jim and
Lance were stunned...and looked at each other in disbelief. We
(fortunately) don't have a photo of her, but is interesting to note that
when they were making introductions earlier in the event, this
lady-who-does-not-know-how-to-have-fun actually tripped and fell on her
way to the stage.
We laughed...and then again, later,
when she wanted a live performer to quiet down we laughed again.
She also demanded this - at times very rudely - of the music that we
played.
We ignored this unimportant lady and
laughed.
Other than that one, single lady, this
event was AWESOME and if it weren't for us retiring, we'd definitely
return next year. |
This Event is awarded a 2006
Jim & Lance Show Relay Award for:
The first time in history a spectator
has asked a live performer to turn their music down. |
