Relay For Life Photos

Clarkston, 2005

2005 was our sixth appearance at the Clarkston Relay for Life.  It was held in a different location this year because of construction at the site it's normally at.  There were a number of teams that didn't show up for this event so it was smaller than we're accustomed to, but it was fun all the same.  There was some really great talent at this event.  Can't wait for next year...it'll be back at it's normal location, Clarkston Middle School.

Well, here we go with the 51st event in 10 years !

The people sitting down in the front row told us they wanted to hear "lounge" music.

Even Clarkston has the hope candle. We saw this before at the Rochester event.

Since it was a different location, everyone kind of looked around as if it were a strange place.

Aww .. the little hope girl is so cute !

The Clarkston/Waterford committee on stage. We still have to get used to saying, "Clarkston-Waterford"

Kelsey reads her poem.

Kelsey has a wonderful voice..

..and ruby slippers to go along with her rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

This kid just wanted to boogie.

Instead of brown-bagging it...

...you simply super-size black-bag it!

Hey, you are not supposed to be in the middle of the field!

Oh wait, the exception was for events like the three-legged race.

"M-m-m-m-m, COOKIES!"

The Irish maids all in a row.

Some of these girls were actually from Ireland.

The balloon in the background was waiting to take us up, up and away in our beautiful ballon.

More from the Irish dancers

Still more from this most excellent group of dancers.

Someone said, "if there is a rock to climb .. by garrrr, we will climb it!".

These guys were a really good time band.

Oh yes, did we mention they are the "Good Tymes Band"

A face melting, heart pounding, gut-busting guitar solo. The bass player is watching to learn it.

He is thinking about Susan Dey. She was the most awesome tambourine player of her time.

If you needed a haircut that day, they were ready for ya.

This giant Strawberry Shortcake creature is saying "Hello!"

Some views from the stands at Pierce Middle School.

Middle view ..

Right view (from the stands).

Some of these campsites were really well decorated. We did not hear of any contests though.

Of course Frank's Frogs was there. They would never miss it.

This event wasn't going to be the same without Joe and Don from Midnight Music there...and then we looked up...and there they were!  They stopped by just to see us!

A small, but energetic dance crowd.

Everyone needs a rainbow colored umbrella hat. This is an idea ACS. When can we expect to see them?

Renee is the leader of the Irish dance troupe that entertained us that day. They were there from 12:30 - 3:00 or so.

Great Harmony, Standard Songs, Bad Jokes...your typical barbershop chorus!  The name of this group as "B Natural".

Elvis, as it turns out, has a wife named Jane, not Priscilla!

Elvis, as it turns out, is not dead!

Elvis, as it turns out, can still swing'em like he did in the 60s.

Elvis, as it turns out, can still charm the ladies!

Lance, as it turns out, has a hug for you!

The Jim and Lance Show fan club always makes an appearance.

We warned them that a large "Flock of Seagulls" was flying overhead and that they better look out, or run so far away.

Jim, as it turns out was waiting for a hug from the cute girls behind the camera.

Ah .. the group dance.

More fun than anything else at these events. Too bad it is only one hour long .. hmm.

Jim reacting to the fact that Lance just put on the wrong song ..

We have no idea what these people were doing ..

But they seemed to have a lot of fun doing it.

Lance bids you all a fond farewell from Clarkston ..Waterford. See you next year at .. Clarkston.
