Lance behind the console for the Clarkston Event for 2002. The
music equipment (amps and speakers) were provided by Midnight Music and
the sound quality was absolutely excellent. |
The beginning of the event. This event was our third in
Clarkston and was probably the best we've done there so far. The
crowd was excellent and the weather absolutely awesome. |
The crowd gathers around the stage at Clarkston Middle School before
the beginning of the event for announcements and awards.

The Survivor Lap gets under way. It's the lap where the cancer
survivors get a lap around the track with their caregivers, if they have
them. If you look closely at the large photo you'll see many of
them with balloons |
One of the very unique things they did at this event was to have a
balloon launch for the survivors. Each person with a pink or
purple balloon is either a cancer survivor or caregiver.
|
After the Survivor Lap all of the balloons were released. At
this point we were playing Elton John's "Circle of Life".
It was a very touching and inspiring moment. To look at so many
balloons flying away was indescribable. |

A few of the attendees stopping to "Smile for the Camera!". |
A couple of guys all 70'd up. They wouldn't stop asking for
Disco... |
A few more people stopping by to ham it up for the Digital Camera. |
Singsation setting up for their afternoon performance.
They sang and danced to music from the 40's up to almost present. |
The Country Time Dancers, fresh off of winning a
national contest. They were very good and had some great
choreography. |

The Sponsors Sign. If you look closely you'll see "DJs Jim
& Lance" listed, 2nd column, 3rd entry. |
The Jim & Lance Show is world-renowned for their Group Dance
Sessions, and no-one can do it like us. Here they're getting ready
to do that Cha-Cha Slide. |
Here they are doing the Hustle to Stevie Wonder's "My Eyes
Don't Cry No More". We always play the long version of
the song and they always hang in there. |
This is either the Chicken Dance of the Hokey Pokey. Two of our
best group-dance numbers. Participation was a bit light at this
event but it was fun all the same. |
More attendees having fun, in this shot they're walking around to the
music of The Pat Saunders Band. They played for about 2
hours and gave the Jim & Lance Show a little break. |
The Pat Saunders Band. They are the best band we've ever
worked with at a Relay for Life. |
This is the third year we've gotten to work with them, and while we
claim to be THEIR biggest fan, they claim to be ours as well.
Sometimes you've gotta know whose back to scratch! |
THE Pat Saunders. There's nothing else to say.
Excellent Drummer, Band Leader, All-Around Nice Guy. |
Pat, again, as we take the stage after their performance. They
are a VERY hard act to follow, so we humbly took over after they
finished. |
The guy in the backwards hat is Jacques. He is one of the best
guitar players we've ever heard live. He is simply amazing, yet
makes it look so easy. |
